As we’re nearing the middle of #Veganuary, we understand and respect that veganism may not be for everyone, that’s ok! This is #NoShameZone. There are SO many other ways to adjust your lifestyle. Here’s just a few:
-
We’ll only share one diet-related idea, which is #MeatlessMonday, ever heard of it? Meatless Monday is an international campaign that encourages people to NOT eat meat on Mondays as a way to improve their health and to live sustainably.

The average UK adult buys around three plastic water bottles each week...which is 175 bottles PER year PER person. This equates to a staggering 7.7 billion plastic bottles per year. Rather than contribute to this huge waste, why not buy a reusable water bottle? So much better for the planet (and your wallet).

- Toothbrushes are something we use every day, but how often do we think of the environmental toll it's taking on the planet? Bamboo brushes eliminate unnecessary waste while giving you the same quality of cleaning that a plastic brush can offer. Bamboo brushes typically last around 3-4 months (same as plastic) however these can be composted!

Shop second hand! 350,000 tonnes, that's around £140 million worth of used but still wearable clothing goes to landfills in the UK every year. This is WILD because, in the UK, we’re spoiled with access to thousands of charity shops. Here we can 1) donate old clothes to prevent them from going in the bin 2) buy 2nd hand clothes rather than purchase something new 3)frequently support our local charities. We’ve also got sites like Depop at our fingertips which makes 2nd hand shopping easier and better than ever.

Last but certainly not least, an easy way to live sustainably this year is by purchasing Floco’s reusable pads. Most menstrual pads are made from 90% plastic, which can take up to a thousand years to decompose in landfills or in the ocean. Switching to period pads is a simple way to make a HUGE impact. By swapping to reusable period pads a user saves 316kg of CO₂E and 64kg of plastic waste over their lifetime! That’s a lot for a small change!
Support Floco with their mission to ensure no one has to compromise on quality to live a little more sustainably.
